Spoke Artwork is happy to current P.T.V. – a gaggle exhibition that includes members of the Bay Space graffiti crew Punks Thugs and Vandals. Together with a various array of inventive kinds, inspirations and backgrounds, the crew’s distinctive characters are acquainted to Oakland and San Francisco locals, worldwide vacationers and past.
Beginning in 2007, following a San Francisco Division of Public works press convention proclaiming “It’s at the moment as much as the Punks, Thugs and Vandals what paintings goes up within the metropolis,” a gaggle of associates started writing the moniker as a tongue-in-cheek reference to the town’s stance on road artwork. Recognized for his or her characters and collaborative items, the members of P.T.V. mix kinds and genres to find commonality between “punk, hiphop, ska, reggae and taking that very same recipe into graffiti, politics and fine artwork.”
PTV characters might be noticed near house in Oakland and throughout the US and internationally in South America, South East Asia, Europe and the Center East. Please be a part of us Friday, June seventh from 6 – 10pm for the opening reception of P.T.V. We may even be releasing a brand new restricted version display screen print and enamel pin by GATS obtainable first for attendees of the opening.
