An outage knocked out 911 for AT&T cellular customers Tuesday.

AT&T cellular phone customers in a number of states had been hit with outages that impacted their potential to contact emergency providers Tuesday morning.

Florida, Minnesota, Indiana, Texas and Wisconsin had been among the many states hit by the outage, with a number of taking to Twitter to alert individuals of alternate methods to contact emergency personnel. Landline customers with AT&T weren’t affected.

To make clear, the 911 difficulty is with AT&T mobile solely. All different mobile carriers will not be reporting any points. The difficulty doesn’t have an effect on AT&T landlines. pic.twitter.com/Re5ei8S0Ht

911 alert!
AT&T is experiencing nationwide 911 service outage which is effecting the power to name 911 on a cellphone. Till the difficulty is resolved, AT&T clients can entry Arlington 911 by both calling 817-274-4444 or using a landline.

Approx an hour in the past Minneapolis was made conscious that AT&T is experiencing a 911 outage ensuing of their clients unable to be immediately related to 911. The alternate quantity throughout this time for Mpls is 612-348-2345. We’re working with our service companions to repair this difficulty.

It’s not clear what brought on the outage although AT&T says it’s resolved. 

“Earlier this morning some wi-fi clients might have been unable to hook up with 911,” the corporate informed CNET in a press release. “This has been resolved and we apologize to anybody who was affected.”
