2019 Booker Prize Longlist Introduced

The 2019 Booker Prize Longlist has been introduced! This yr’s longlist is comprised of 13 novels that span the globe, starting from established authors like Margaret Atwood and Salman Rushdie to debuts from new voices like Oyinkan Braithwaite. First awarded in 1969, the Booker Prize is open to writers of any nationality writing in English and printed within the UK or Eire. The winner of the prize will obtain £50,000. The shortlist will likely be introduced on September third and the winner will likely be introduced October 14th.

Peter Florence, chair of the judges, writes of the nominated titles,  ‘They think about our world, acquainted from information cycle catastrophe and grievance, with wild humor, deep perception and a eager humanity. These writers provide pleasure and hope. They rejoice the wealthy complexity of English as a worldwide language. They’re exacting, enlightening and entertaining. Actually—learn all of them.”
