Twitter board member Debra Lee to step down – CNET

Debra Lee, the primary African-American to serve on Twitter’s board of administrators, is stepping down from the function in August after greater than three years, in line with a submitting to the Securities and Alternate Fee on Monday.
Twitter’s announcement got here on the identical day AT&T introduced that Lee can be becoming a member of its board of administrators.
“Twitter is a terrific firm with a transparent mission and powerful management workforce,” Lee stated in an announcement. “I consider Twitter has a brilliant future, and I want Jack and the complete firm continued success.”
Twitter, like different tech corporations, has been criticized for not having sufficient range on its board of administrators. When Lee joined Twitter’s board in 2016, civil rights activists praised the corporate’s choice.
Lee is the previous chairwoman and CEO of BET Networks.
