Whereas the Heritage assortment channels Minerva watchmaking from the ’40s and ’50s, gold and inexperienced is a mixture that, for me, calls to thoughts the ’70s and ’80s. Particularly, it jogs my memory fairly immediately of the Polo cologne bottle my dad generally had on his dresser once I was a child. The shiny lacquering of this inexperienced dial lends a glassy texture that causes it to react fairly a bit to completely different lighting conditions. For instance, the wrist-shot above was taken within the sunny library at HODINKEE HQ, and you’ll see how the dial actually sings in a vivid room. Whereas the watch is meant to evoke classic designs, and even has a historic model of the Montblanc brand on the dial, it is sized for contemporary tastes at 40mm in diameter and 11mm thick. I believe that it will work on lots of people’s wrists.
