“With the nonetheless moonlight, unhappy and delightful,

That units the birds dreaming within the timber

And the fountains sobbing in ecstasy,

The tall slender fountains amongst marble statues.”

An excerpt from the poem  ‘Clair de Lune’ from Fêtes Galantes by Paul Verlaine (1869).

There are numerous songs, portray and odes to the moon, and for good cause! The moon turns the tides, evokes our artwork and measures our lives in methods we’re solely starting to grasp.  In lots of cultures the moon is projected as the female precept, the receptive or yin power that nourishes and gestates, patiently weaving the soul’s cloak of mortality within the darkness of the womb, marking time till new life is able to be born into the total radiance of the solar.

The Harmonist Moon Glory is precisely the calming, centering fragrance I’ve been in search of. The rapid impact of the distinctive mixture of pikake, evening blooming cactus flower and ylang-ylang is so soothing as to be nearly narcotic. Inside moments I discover myself spirited away via a dusky twilight to a silent realm of flowers, an olfactory dreamland the place all my worries, tales and obsessions fade right into a perfume that glows just like the moon itself. Sighs of passionflower and lychee float via the ethereal floral mist, the ripening fruit smoothed with notes of honey and balsam. The Harmonist Moon Glory is kind of lengthy lived.  Alter eight hours and extra I nonetheless detect the jasmine and passionflower near my pores and skin and, days later, a passing breeze ruffles the sleeve of my coat, stirring traces of metallic, candy Australian sandalwood and recalling the cool hazy gleam of the spring moon.

Notes: Hawaiian Jasmine (pikake), Ylang-Ylang from Comoros, Chinese language Lychee, Queen of the Evening blossoms from Mexico, Ardour Flower from French Guyana, Laotian Natural Honey, Japanese Hinoki Wooden, Peru Balsam and Australian Sandalwood.

Disclaimer:  I want to thank The Harmonist for my cherished bottle of Moon Glory.  My opinions are my very own.
