Invoice Withers – Nonetheless Invoice
I can not stress sufficient how nice of an album Nonetheless Invoice is. With the passing of this music legend, we’re left with an album that was exemplary in its songwriting and musicianship. One of many issues I really like about this file is which you could inform the musicians listened to at least one one other by the sense of house they gave to at least one one other to let their phrases play out. James Gadson’s drums sound so powerful on this, and after they’re within the pocket with Melvin Dunlap’s bass and Ray Jackson’s accents – that, to me, is the Sussex Data sound of the ’70s.
